3月份，开学伊始，西安这座本已平静的古城再次被无情的疫情打乱了秩序。各大高校相继封闭管理，有序开展线上教学工作。英文学院全体师生做好了充分的准备，开始了云端授课和学习。为了更好地鼓励同学们在逆境中迎难而上、在艰苦中奋斗拼搏，英文学院外籍教师Brown为同学们写了一封真挚的鼓励信。
Dear students,
I will always cheer you guys up for gathering momentum to tackle the tough times again.You guys are so special in my memory. This the era of unforeseen circumstances and everything is unpredictable. Tough times never last long but tough people do. Yeah! You are tough. We are all lucky living where there are tough people and that is why everything is under control and is just the matter of time. You just need to keep calm.You are lucky to have your college life symbolic in history. You are lucky to be history makers and this will also depends on individual harvest to make your own history a gorgeous one. The ball is in your court. You have been locked down on campus time and again and it is not a taboo to you anymore my nice guys. I know you have been missing your relatives , friends, and old schoolmates and still continue to miss them and they do as well especially your parents who provided sunshine for you. Never mind and remain thoughtful. COVID-19 is a global menace to all humans watching the only one moon and the only one golden sun no matter where you live. COVID-19 is like a new monster draining humans like a vampire but you guys remain resilient and enthusiastic with so many text books excluding the true text book of COVID-19. Congratulations my nice guys. Remember we are lucky to be on the safer side because the Chinese authorities are orientating for the betterment and we can’t beat around the bush about the effectiveness of the end point. It’s time for you to stick to the triple “H” which gives you three words. The words are HAPPINESS, HEALTH, and HOPEFUL. I put these words in a chronological order because when you are happy, you will be healthy and when you are healthy, you will be hopeful. Let’s keep going online again my nice guys. You are amazing guys. You are backbones in history. That’s fantastic. Thanks so much for taking my course online again. Thanks so much for the leaders, teachers, and everyone that paid and still paying the efforts to make your study and campus life bearable and fruitful . Thanks so much to the Chinese authorities for the effectiveness as usual.
